REMIT, in partnership with the Government of Sindh and the UK Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, convened a high-level Pakistan – UK Roundtable on Investment Climate & Business Environment Reforms, chaired by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah.
Bringing together senior provincial leadership, the British High Commission, multinational companies, UK businesses and investors, the dialogue focused on practical reforms to strengthen Pakistan’s investment climate focussing on regulatory implementation and taxation to policy predictability, infrastructure and ease of doing business. The discussion reinforced a shared commitment to ensuring that reforms translate into tangible improvements for businesses on the ground.
The roundtable also highlighted support for implementing the World Bank’s Business Ready (B-READY) framework in Karachi, helping align reforms with international benchmarks while keeping the experiences of businesses at the centre.
Public-private dialogue remains one of the most powerful drivers of sustainable reform. REMIT, over the years has found considerable success in supporting reform interventions that creates opportunities for businesses, investors and the people of Pakistan.
