About Us
Who we are?
REMIT is five-year (2021-25) technical assistance program funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), United Kingdom to support Pakistan in implementing strategic reforms in the realm of economic development, trade, investment and revenue mobilisation.
Focus Areas

The programme focuses on the following areas:
- Tax Revenue Mobilisation: The programme works towards increasing the number of taxpayers to strengthen tax revenue mobilisation, ultimately raising the tax-to-GDP ratio.
- Investment Climate: The programme addresses investment climate challenges faced by local and international businesses, promoting Pakistan as a top reformer country to do business in.
- Trade Facilitation: The programme aims to reduce barriers to trade and drive competitiveness, thereby increasing exports to reduce Pakistan’s trade deficit. The World Bank supports this component.
- Macroeconomic Policy Modernisation: The programme seeks to modernise how macroeconomic policy is made and implemented to avoid future financial crises.
Cross-Cutting Themes
The programme incorporates cross-cutting themes of gender and inclusion, climate change, and strategic communications.
Implementation Partners
The programme components are implemented by Adam Smith International, the World Bank, and the International Trade Center in Pakistan.
