Climate and Gender Budget Tagging Workshops in Gilgit
Secretary Finance appreciates REMIT’s support
Continuing its work on Climate and Gender Budget Tagging across Pakistan, REMIT convened a two-day training workshop in Gilgit, bringing together senior government leadership from across Gilgit-Baltistan.
The workshop engaged over 60 senior officials from key departments, including Finance, Social Welfare, Water Management, Tourism, Agriculture, Law & Prosecution, Forest, Communications & Works, Planning & Development, Health, Education, Information Technology, Local Government & Rural Development, Home & Prison, Rescue 1122, Commissioner Offices, and the Governor’s House.
Participants took part in in-depth discussions on the Budget Call Circular, budget formulation processes, and associated documentation, alongside hands-on exercises on budget forms, Climate Budget Tagging, and Gender Budget Tagging.
Concluding the workshop, the Secretary Finance, Gilgit-Baltistan, appreciated REMIT’s support in advancing the institutionalization of Climate and Gender Budget Tagging, highlighting it as a critical step towards evidence-based and inclusive policymaking in the region.
