REMIT Pakistan brings together regulators to identify specific reforms in the livestock sector of Pakistan

Working in line with the regulatory reforms agenda, REMIT Pakistan brought together the public (regulators) and private sector in Punjab to break down the most binding constraints of the regulations and legislations to identify specific reforms to unleash growth for the livestock sector.

This was done by partnering with the Planning and Development Board of Punjab with active participation from the provincial secretaries of Livestock and Planning.

More than 8 million rural families derive about 35-40 % of their income from livestock production in Pakistan. The gross value of livestock has increased from 5,269 billion PKR to 5,441 billion PKR which makes livestock a very important sector for growth and export potential.
